As a portfolio assignment, you and a small group of your peers will pick a country that is a contender for the World Cup 2010. Your group will answer this question: What is it like to live in a country obsessed with soccer during the World Cup? You will have to not only research facts about your chosen country, but the national soccer team itself. You will imagine that you are a traveler making your way through your chosen country during the most celebrated sporting event in the world, next to the Olympics. You will need to find the capital city as well as points of interest and maybe even the natural landscape.
This portfolio assignment will be broken into 3 major parts which will spend one day from each week working in the computer lab.
Part One: Pick a group and a country
- you and two other students will write a paragraph summary of three countries top seeded in World Cup 2010. Find out some basics first, before you make a final decision (each group member pick a country, write a short summery, and then decide)
- After you made your final decision, set up the blog through www.blogspot.com and create a title and design
- Assign roles to each member of your group (1= find facts on the national soccer team 2= explore the country from a tourist perspective 3 = images/maps/and desciptions)
- Start work on your portion of the work!
Part Two: Building the Blog
- The blog MUST have at least 5 entries. Pick 5 dates in the summer of 2010 that are "game days" for your chosen country.
- Begin to type text and post images into the blog
- Finish at least 3 entries by the end of the work day
Part Three: Finsh & Print
- Add 2 more entries and edit your text
- Once your Blog is complete, print
- Create a cover art fist page with your country names and group members names
- bind your blog andmust be ready to disply for exhibition
